Better question might be why is it opening 1N on (essentially) xx xx in the majors.

I'm OK with it opening 1nt. The alternative is to open 1c and reverse on a 16 count? This drives to 2nt+ on 16 opposite 5 or 6 which may not be so wonderful. Might make finding minor slam easier, but I find that opening 1nt even on xx/xx majors works out fine on average when in this strength range.

As for why it is stopping in 4H:

- the 3nt is poorly defined. It still has 2-5S/2-5H at this point, probably it should imply 2-2 in the majors now?

- the 4h is also poorly defined, it shows a slam try but no extra major length? Most likely bidding a major should show a sixth cd and just be to play, with a real 5/5 slam try it should maybe cue bid minor shortness?

Thanks for reporting.

Fixed as well the bid ( should be 4, showing 6+ 5+ ) and also explanation of 4 which is also 5+ 6+.

Also adjusted 3NT explanation. GIB has several ways to show fit in spades, in hearts, or in both. So 3NT is not one of these.

Included in next v28.
