Hanoi5
♠Tx♥Q9876♦KQT♣AQ9 1♣-1♥2NT-3♣3♠-??? Partner holds 4 spades, not three hearts and a balanced 18-19 HCP's hand, how many NT's do you bid?
PhilKing
3NT. Anything more is a rookie error.

Fluffy
foreseeing 1 loser in each major is not so hard.
Free
3NT. I don't see an easy way to 12 tricks unless partner has ♥AK, in which case he'll bid 4♥ on the next round. Even in that case you'd need ♥3-3 which isn't likely enough.
aguahombre
Partner holds 4 spades, not three hearts and a balanced 18-19 HCP's hand, how many NT's do you bid?Yep, a mere 3NT seems right under those conditions. With a different set of agreements where 2NT already denied four spades, and where Opener's 3S denied three hearts and denied a diamond control ---we might be looking at (say) AKX AK JXX KJXXX and would be getting excited enough to probe further (knowing her 18/19 points must be somewhere). MrAce
This would be a tuffer situation, had pd responsed 3♦ or 3NT over 3♣ (if this is some sort of check back) showing 3235 2245 (assuming you play 5533) Over 3♠ i think you do not have this issue. gszes
lets look for miracle hands give partner AKxx KJ Axx KJxx theres 19 of thefinest and most perfect we can possibly imagine and 6n is still wanting. needing 33 hearts or Tx or T still well short of 50% and that's being able topick the cards out of the deck for p to hold. Sometimes bidding is just assimple as that looking for miracles and noting that even then we can't makewhat we want. In this case settle for 3n. I think the best it gets is AKxx, AJ, Axx, Kxxx, now hearts 3-3, Kx/stiff K onside, 10x/stiff 10/K10 either side will do.
