Matchpoints, red all. You play some version of 2/1.

KQT8xx 8 - AQJxxx

Pass - ?

I think the hand is good enough to open 2C, but I don't see any useful information coming from that auction, so:

P - 1S - 2H - 2S

3H - 4C - P - 4S

?

Partner's hand is AJx Txxx Jx Kxxx

I saw the spoiler but i still would not blast slam. We are losing a trick to start with and after that we can not afford to lose any trick.

My reasoning is;

-Pd has both critical 2 cards we need, then we make slam

-Pd has spade A but not K we are looking at a finesse, which is unlikely to be on. And there are some cases we may go down even when K is on (assume 3-1 spade break, will create entry problems for 2 times cl finesse etc)

-Pd has K but not A we are down

-Pd has diamond values, (or even heart values or combined) a suit which is not bid by anyone at the table, and lack of both critical cards we need. Slam is hopeless maybe we can make 5 if lucky.

-It is MP

In a different thread someone suggested opening these hand types via transfer preempts in order to get the hand strength and pattern immediately into the picture. Doing that you have an auction something like this -

3 = transfer to

3 = completing the transfer

4 = big two suiter in and

From here you should get to the slam easily via:

4 = 6-card RKCB

Once responder knows you have all the keycards, it is now a matter of finding the void as well to bid the grand. You may get lucky and the opponents push you there via 7.

Your first point isn't complete which makes quite a difference: Pd has 2 of 3 critical cards (A, K and A), then we make.

There's also a chance of opps leading instead of when partner holds KQ or A, or even KJ or Kx.
