..and why?

Pass. I doubt we have game, I have two spade tricks and some help in hearts, and I think this is going down, so +200/500 seems like the best shot. I think this is clearer at matchpoints than teams, but I would pass at either form of scoring.

Pass.

Chris and Blackshoe said why.

Would add Colchamiro's Rule of 9 agrees -

When partner has opening hand or better and makes a takeout double,

# Trumps + # Honors in Trumps + Level of opponent's bid > or = 9, pass for penalty.

4 + 2 + 3 = 9

At least there's some additional validation to lean on.

Cohen's LOTT books cover things like this and should convince you that you have to pass her. It doesn't always work or result in a top score, but bidding looks to be wrong a large percentage of the time.

Looks like a massacre, you're even lucky break 3-3 and not 5-1! This was a clear pass indeed, you bring 2 defensive tricks and some help (maybe worth half a trick), your partner doubles Vulnerable at 3-level committing us to 3x or the 4-level while you already passed, so his hand is good. The only reasonable alternative to consider imo is 3NT, but that's a huge gamble. So better take the sure plus.
