mink
If one has friends and the "notify" option checked, a bubble appears when a friend logs in. I think is not a good idea to receive those bubbles during a tournament. Somebody else cannot reply to a greeting anyway, and I should not waste time greeting somebody while playing in a tournament. It is also distracting a bit. So I would suggest to never display a login bubble while the receiving player is in a tournament. It is fairly easy to look if friends are there after the tournament has finished and greet them then. Karl
Codo
Hi Karl, help yourself. Whenever you play tournements, change it in your profile. Then nobody will disturb your deep thoughts. After the tournement you can switch back and let the bubble come whenever a friend joins bbo. Kind Regards Roland
inquiry
Hi Karl, Roland's advice is right on the mark. I am adding how to change your profile for anyone who is experiencing the problem you mentioned and wants to change their there profile during tournment play.... From the Main Bridge Lobby (where you can see all the players logged on who are not invisible) left click on your own name (the first name in the list on-line players). Your "user profile choices" will pop open. Here you can change a lot of your options.... like skill level, "other information" (like bidding system, etc), your file logging behavior (chat?, played hands? kibitized hands? Vugraph hands?), if you want to "ignore chat" from lobby, enemies, or even ALL CHAT, and of course the simple little option of notifying you when friends log in. You can come to this page and change your profile as often as you like. So before tournment, follow Roland's advice and turn this off, after the tournment, turn it back on. uday
You can also alter your profile while playing in the tourney (or elsewhere). Right clicking on your name will bring up your profile when you are seated at a table. Disabling bubbles is probably a good idea, for the reasons you mention but since there is a good workaround, I dont think we'll alter the code, for now. QQSV
I'd like to request that the current behavior not be changed. Even if I am playing in a tournament, I like to know when my friends come on. I may not be able to chat with them immediately, but I do know to look for them after the tourney is over (and I am then not surprised if they decide to kibitz at my table.) So I'd vote to leave things exactly as they are. I think the pop-up bubbles during a tourney are just fine. --Q
