However, I would be a little more comfortable if I knew more about the methods. While pass is forcing, what are partner's options, especially with, say, a weak 3334? Are there inferences on his failure to do anything over the redouble?
Codo
I would double. Partner will not sit with a weak hand and without intermed. trumps against a one suiter..
gszes
i have MAYBE 3 defensive tricks will not be happy playing2CX unless they are down 2 so p needs MAYBE 4 tricksI do not like my odds failure to x now will limit my handwhich is good but may far too often result in 2c gettingpassed out for a poor score. The best course seemsto be to bid 2d At least your side has a fair chance of winning the partial war and who knows maybe p will be able to bid 2h or 2s game can still be reached. Enamy bidding is deigned to disrupt smooth communications do not be overy concernedabout missing a 44 spade fit at the expense of losing the entire hand. ggwhiz
2♦ Knowing the downside but having pard respond 2♥ to a double with 4-4 in the majors is too annoying to let happen. Reverse my majors and I'll double.
yunling
I would bid 2 diamonds. Are there inferences on his failure to do anything over the redouble? Over 2C, dbl is takeout, new suit shows a one-suiter hand, passing is either penalty oriented or a two-suiter hand. Thus a weak 3334 at the balancing seat will dbl. If you were simply repeating our options then you did not address any of Mike's questions as far as I can see. Forget the hand in the OP (South) for a moment. Describe what partner's (North's) pass over the redouble meant and what partner can do in the above auction (were we (South) to pass 2♣). yunling
Sorry for causing confusion here. There is not much information in north's pass over rdbl, which just denies a very distributional hand.(So he cannot have a 6 carder) If it goes 2C P P, north's option would bedbl:2+♣2♦:takeout2♥/♠:some two-suiter
