rogerclee
Seems normal to play AK of clubs and plan to ruff with the J. Playing a low club off dummy is bad since when clubs are 4-2, you are going down to a club ruff whenever the hand with 4 clubs also has the DA. awm
Seems like this is playing for clubs 3-3 or diamonds 3-3. An alternate line is to just pull trumps and then lead a club up, trying for clubs 3-3 or the queen onside. The latter actually seems a bit better to me...
karlson
Seems like this is playing for clubs 3-3 or diamonds 3-3. Or the same hand with 4 clubs and 2 diamonds, unless I'm missing something. I think that should swing it back.
rogerclee
Yeah you also make on a layout where either hand has something like QJx QJxx A98x Qx, they cannot profitably ruff either club.
nige1
♠ A ♥ A K ♦ K Q T 6 2 ♣ A K 6 5 2♠ K 7 5 2 ♥ T 6 5 3 2 ♦ J 4 ♣ J 3You play 5♦ from the short side. Opening lead is the Q♠. Agree with awm: draw trumps and lead a small ♣; hoping ♣ split or RHO has ♣Q.
