4 Hearts. w/6-5 keep bidding until someone doubles.

Either partner doubles the opponents or the opponents double you. Chances are good that you can make 10 tricks and that the opponents can also make 10 tricks.

There is a fit in one or both of your suits. So you can apply Losing Trick Count. You have 5 losers -- the equivalent of a 19 point balanced hand. Your partner has shown 6-9 points and usually has around 9 losers. On average your hands will make 10 tricks in a suit contract.

From the auction, chances have improved that partner's values are in the red suits -- where you need them -- rather than in Spades -- where they are wasted.

Bid 4 hearts, expected opps to bid 4 spades and if p passes (or if you are first to bid after 4s) bid 5d.
