fred
As far as I can tell, for those people who see white screens, they usually see them when there are at least 4000 people logged in. Peak times are the same on the weekends and, in general, there are more people logged in on weekends then there are on weekdays. In fact, it seems that we set a new record for simultaneous logins on roughly 50% of Sundays. keylime
I've notice during peak times that the connectivity intermittently becomes like a spasm; I get a "stall" at times that I can not trace yet - I've checked the new wi-fi and router setup to make sure it isn't tripping BBO up from my end. I've had zero, nada, zip white screen issues. Lucky me. Logon times are much improved; at least 60 percent time savings. NY's resolution - BBO to grow to 7,500 members at peak time! :)
DrTodd13
Just curious, does anybody know what the peak OKB simultaneous logins is? Todd
inquiry
NY's resolution - BBO to grow to 7,500 members at peak time! :) I assume you meant to say your new year prediction, not new yearrs resolution. Seems a sure bet to me. ben
DrTodd13
Fred, Let me know if you didn't get my e-mails about the white screen problem. For everyone else, I think I've found a way to reproduce the problem at will.At least it works consistently for me. Who knows if it will work for anyoneelse. Todd
Dwingo
I am on 3.9.6. I dont have the white screen problem, hence did not go to 3.9.7.In the last 2 days, I have had 3 crashes with 3.9.6, the message I get is a NetVu error. I have never encountered these type of crashes earlier, only now after I upgraded to 3.9.6. I am not able to correlate the crashes with any specific activity, but the 3rd time it occurred, was when I was moving my mouse over the different titles / Team lists in the Team Match page. I relogged again and tried the same activity and now everything seem OK. There is randomness and hence can't say what is causing it. I had a couple of websites open, when this crash happened. No serious CPU activity.
fred
Hi Dwingo, When was the most recent crash? We know about a possible crash source due to a server bug, but in theory that was fixed around 4AM EST on January 9 (today). Dwingo
Hi Fred I posted my message within 5 minutes of my last crash. The time & date on my post will give you the time as per your local time. Since I have set my Forums pages to show my local time, I may mess up convertig to your time. Between the last crash and now, I was logged in BBO for atleast 5 hours and I have not seen this happen.
skyhawk
Fred,Thanks for your post. Follows is a "general" report of today's activies. 1/9/05 5PM 4900 people on line:White screen for about 5 seconds. This time (for the first time) I heard the tone telling me it was my turn to play while the screen was ALL white. I am NOT playing with full screen BBO, yet full screen turns white. Once recovered from the white screen there is usually a long pause of 1-3 sec from click of next card until it plays . I experienced two more white screens during the next 15 minutes with more than 4800 people on line. I played later in the day, a couple of times, and experienced no problems -- both times with under 3000 on line. Fast, crisp, etc. FYI the only things running in my tray, which are not new and have not created problems in the past are Norton Anti Virus, Zone Alarm, and Comcast Support Agent. Of course, all of these programs are regularly updating which could cause some conflict. Someone mentioned crashes at the end of the hand during a brief chat. This is when all of mine happened -- giving a "Netvu error." BR, :) Ed
fred
Thanks Ed - still working on it. Hope to have 3.9.8 available within a day or 2. About the crashes at the end of hands you report - do you remember if you were playing in a tournament or not when this happened? Also, please confirm what version you are using. This is a 3.9.6 thread, but I seem to recall you are using 3.9.7. Thanks, Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com

fred
Hi Abidou, Thanks for the report. What version were you using before you upgraded to 3.9.7? How far did you get before the crash? Did you see the BBO main window appear? Did you see the "waiting..." dialog go away? Did you hear the "welcome" sound? If there is a file named: db in your c:\bridge base online folder can you please try deleting this file and trying again. Let me know what happens. Thanks, Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com

adibou
Hello, I think that before the update (with the setup-in 3.9.7) I was to turn over into 3.9.3 since I had problems with the other versions beta (already seen on the forum: white screen). The problem occurs before even throw an application, it is even done at the time or I click on the icon of Bridge Bases Online of my office (with the launching of NetBridgeVu.exe) I thus do not hear nor do not see anything, no "dialogue" no "welcome", and not either the window of the launching of BBO (the choice to play on line or to open the history of give to play) On the other hand version 3.9.8 seems to function well I have remakes the test of the 3.9.7 this morning after the setup into 3.9.8 I put over the setup into 3.8.7 and same, when i clic on icone in see nothing execpte bug (see my previous post) version 3.9.8 whole is well
