Unless you have an agreement that a passed hand double is penalty I am going to assume it is takeout and bid 5C since thats the only thing it could mean. I also play X of 1N openers as penalty, but I don't play a passed hand X of 1N as penalty lol. If you have specifically agreed that a passed hand X of 4S is penalty then I'll pass. If it is undiscussed and you play UPH X of 4S as penalty, then I will assume my partner will know I willknow that it's t/o by a passed hand.
