IMPs, again.

This time the contract is doubled...

Double of 2H = take-out

Over the double, opener's 2NT would have been natural (i.e. not scramble)

Opener says 3D was "90% forcing" as responder could have transferred out to diamonds if he wanted

Responder says 3D was definitely not forcing

I'm not telling you if this discussion took place before or after partner doubled, because that would be UI

top heart looks bad regardless of partner having singleton or doubleton, only when he is void will it be good. Leaves only one option left.

BTW I have my doubts about the UI from a legal point of view, it is the opponents who are giving AI to partner, and I always though that partner has AI is AI to us.

IMO J = 10, 6 = 9, 7 = 8, A = 7, T = 4.[/hv]

This turned out to be [edit] not very interesting.

At the table, any lead except a low heart beats it by 1 or 2, depending on declarer's card reading skills. If you lead a top heart you have to cash the other two, but that probably isn't so difficult.

I chose a spade at the table, but thought it difficult so was interesting to see some different opinions.
