Cyberyeti
P or 2N both possible, form of scoring ? Both are dangerous in different ways, P will get Jxx, Kxx, KQJ10, Kxx or x, Kxxxx, xxx, KQxx, 2N will get xx, xxx, xxxx, Qxxx and S holding a big hand with short spades. 2N is 15-17 ish for us, so I'd probably do that. broze
I'll sit on the fence by passing at IMPs and 2NT at MPs.
Hanoi5
2NT for me. Did RHO tank before passing?
fromageGB
Pass. Looks like partner could have made a takeout double if he had a hand where game would be probable with this hand. Yes, we may miss a game or a good partscore, but we avoid being stampeded into a disaster.
iviehoff
Did RHO tank before passing? If he did, looks like you are going to have to pass.

plum_tree
This was MP. I sat as West for a 2nd bottom. 3NT was cold with partner holding the ♠A and the problematic ♦ suit well covered.
gszes
i am somewhat torn btn x and 2n If we are playing leb I willprefer x since over 2n i can bid 3c and over (the inevitable?)3d i can bid 3h warning p that i really really do not like diamonds.W/O leb I am stuck with a not-really-makes-me-happy 2n sinceall my finesses will go into the hand with the long spades Yuck. Too much power to pass especially at IMPS. At MP one can take a flyer and try for the "magic" 200 setting 2s but bear in mind most of the time u can score 7 tricks against 2s you will be able to make game. rmnka447
2 NT for me. ♦ could be wide open. In any case, Partner will have a good handle on the hand's overall strength and have a way to find 4 ♥ if that's right.
MrAce
Easy 2 NT for me. I would not have objected anyone who decided to pass.
CamHenry
2NT, though I'd be prepared to congratulate oppo on a successful preempt. I tend to bid cautiously but balance aggressively over preempts.
hotShot
I dont think that pass is an option. Whe know that partner is most likely short in ♠ and that even if he has enough strength (e.g.8-9 HCP) for game, he does not have a bid over 2♠.So I think that 2NT is mandatory. Fluffy
If I don't bid 2NT with this hand I rather use it for the minors or whatever artificial gadget you can think about.
ArtK78
2NT is clear to me. Can't pass - partner would not act in direct seat without full values or perfect takeout shape. We could easily have a game.
