Fluffy
[hv=d=n&v=e&s=sqjhdakq1097642cj7]133|100|Scoring: MP[/hv] Yesterday at my local was simple crazy, never saw two 9 card suits in same seasson, but they come together with another 8 carder and about 10 more voided hands, it is specially rare since at my local average age is higher than 60, and they normally don't suffle at all, wich results on balanced hands everywhere :D. Anyway here you have to make a bid here.
pbleighton
The choice is between 5D and 6D, IMO. 5D for me. Peter
EricK
This looks like a 5♦ to me. You will occasionally miss out on a slam. You will sometimes miss out on a good 3NT. But you will often cause the opps to miss a good game or slam or overbid into a bad one. And you will sometimes make 5♦X for an excellent score. luke warm
do you view this as a preemptive hand or an opening hand... if preemptive (and if you aren't vulnerable), klinger recommends counting your winners and adding 3... that means bid 6♦ if you view this as an opening hand, open it 1♦
badderzboy
Any thoughts on a (i)Gambling 3NT bid if dbl goto 5♦ or (ii)an ACOL 2 bid of 2♦ (iii)A Benji 2♣ (acol 2 or bal 23-24) followed by 2♦(waiting) then 3♦? Steve
inquiry
I assume the bidding has been pass-pass to me. Where are the majors? Where are the hcp. You will not allow them to play 5 of a major. So just bid 6!D seems about right to me. Ben
mr1303
If I'm in 1st or 2nd, 1D. Too much on the outside for a gambling 3NT, and slam can be missed when it's right if I open 5D (partner will likely leave me there) and 6D may over pre-empt. Can't think why I'd ever try bidding clubs in this auction. In 3rd I bid 5D, and in 4th I pass
luke warm
you'd pass? if i passed a solid 9 card suit i'd deserve for the bridge gods to be pissed at me for a very long time... i'd bid 6d in any seat
mr1303
Yeah, I'd pass, and the reason I'd pass is that if I've got a solid 9 card suit, the chances are someone else has something useful as well. If they bid 4 or 5 hearts, I'm not so happy to go onto 6D when I could have made zero by passing the hand out. I'll take my bollocking from partner if this is a bad score

luke warm
there is absolutely no way i'd pass a solid 9 card suit unless the bidding was 7nt by the time it reached me
pclayton
Passing this hand is masterminding. Not that I haven't done it myself in the past; but its still masterminding. I bid 5♦ but I think I like 6 better. You have insurance that the max you are going for is 500. But most important; you take away the 6♦ cue bid which is probably the key for 7. whereagles
There we go again.. is a 6♦ opening is an invitation to 7 or preemptive?
flytoox
I think you really need to specify which seat I am in with this hand. Having said that, i would pick 5D. 6D, if you define it as preemptive, is too far in my view. We may take the frist two tricks.
helium
6 D easy:)

I don't think so... the most likely distribution for the remaining diamonds is 2-1-1, so it's good odds only one diamond will cash.
Fluffy
I Am so sorry guys, I forgot to tell partner opened 3♣ first position, wich was doubled, what were I thinking about? This is embarrasing :) :) :) :_(.
