This hand is the stuff the Bridge columnists write about.

You can play for a 4-3 split.

Ruff A high

to A

Ruff high

to A ( pulling only outstanding trump )

Ruff high

low to 6

discard on K, K, and long

Yes, but is this the best line?

Since South has 9 diamonds, hearts are breaking 4-3 very rarely.

The double squeeze looks like a clear winner, and even works when South is 1-3-9-0. But as LMB says, play the K to the ace and cash the K to find out what is going on, but Fluffy's line is still fine whether South follows or not!

Can you also ruff a spade after to get a full count on that suit? you have 4 entries to dummy, assuming you get the clubs right. You'll know who has the 1 trump, and a full count on so the picture of the hand should be complete and you can decide if are worse than 5-2 or if North has both the majors covered then you can squeeze him till he gives up.

Yes. That is what is known as finding out what's going on - obviously we ruff a spade. My point was, you only ruff out hearts when you discover South is 1?09, where he is known to have 3 hearts. Basically the hand is a claim unless South is 4090 with the spade queen, and even then there may be a double dummy line.
