han
RHO opens 1S, you hold Qxx xx KQx KQ10xx. Will you overcall 2C? Do you think most of your peers make the same choice?
lycier
Very good !This is a classical hand which is suitable for bidding at balabced seat, not for overcall, whatever vulnerable or non-vulnerable.so my choice is all pass and never overcall. Adebisi
Good hand, opening strength, seems automatic 2♣ bid, only pass after passed partner.
Fluffy
Do I have 6 card suit? No, do I have extra strengt to compensate? No. So no overcall, I don't expect the others to do the same but they are stll wrong. If playing Ghestem I supose you should even overcall less, since 2♣ bid is already overloaded with some 3♣ preempts.
dake50
RHO opens 1S, you hold Qxx xx KQx KQ10xx. Will you overcall 2C? Do you think most of your peers make the same choice?*** The cheapest space-consuming overcall, lead-directing with HKQx side stuff, SQxx defensive quack, blabbing stuff with a "minor that won't win this declaration", partner with SKx and CA tries 3NT but not 6+C.What upside does anyone see? What hands would be left to reopen - a rag 8?PASS.
aguahombre
I think my choice to o/c at reds & IMPs is best described as a quirk. Team opponents have good uses for 1NT and 2C responses, and I will take the risk to interfere with those. Nail me.
Phil
Good problem, since my choice differed with all three vulnerabilities. This does not mean I had a good answer.
lalldonn
It's very important to include whether or not partner is a passed hand, in my opinion. (I will use that as my lame excuse to not answer yet)
han
Partner is not a passed hand.
JLOGIC
w/w MP, w/r imps, w/r MP. I could see myself sometimes overcalling w/w at imps, not sure what my standard action would be, it is the only debatable one in my mind.
gszes
Too little to gain and the balanced nature of our hand means even findinga good sac is unlikely. If p is so weak they could not have balanced there is a huge probability we have nothing offensively. This means our 2c bid willmost likely result in either helping the opps in the play of the hand or infinding a better contract or both. I am more than happy to let p do the majority of the work in the PO seatand let them know Im stronger than expected with a nice cue bid. If pis too weak then at the worst I am leaving the opps to find their way withas little help from me as possible. I much prefer to be able to back into the bidding with this type of hand if theopps show we own half the deck or more:)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

steve2005
2♣ this a great hand, sure no A's and Q♠ is not pulling its weight, even with out QS have 10 ptsHowever, you want partner to lead ♣ against NT and probably suit contracts too and this might be last chance to mention them. lmilne
Favourable I usually end up bidding. I'm not sure how good this is opposite a passed hand, but I want partner to lead clubs and possibly interfere with their auction. I would probably pass at nil matchpoints opposite a passed hand but bid otherwise. I think at IMPs I would pass at nil in 2nd seat but it would depend on momentum factors etc.

lalldonn
I will say only when w/w or w/r at mps.
jogs
Vul: never. Non-vul: rarely. Must be known weak opponents. LHO has singleton or doubleton spade. The first three tricksare ♠K, ♠A, spade ruff. This hand looks unlucky.
