How can I slow down the GIBS play? I'd like to think a bit about what I should do, but I'd also like to digest what has happened. Please, if you have an answer, I'd sure appreciate it.

Always have the option of just making the GIBS wait until you feel ready to continue. Unlike a lot of players they are very patient and won't give you a hard time.

In which context do you want to slow down the GIBs? In money bridge you can set the speed when you create your own table, or choose a table where the speed is set to slow. When you're playing with only GIBs it doesn't really matter, because they don't have any feelings.

Are you talking about how quickly the hand is played when GIB North is declaring? There's no way to slow that down. If you want to see how it played the hand, you have to review the hand afterward in the My Hands list (I know, this isn't available in solitaire bridge). You could also play in robot tourneys, where you always declare if your robot partner wins the auction.

 

And if you rent advanced robots ($1/day) instead of basic robots ($1/week) they don't play as fast, because they think more about what they're doing (and as a result they play noticeably better).
