It looks like a pass to me.

You showed your own suit and raised partner's suit. Your hand has not improved any in the auction - if anything, it has gotten worse, as your opponents are bidding and raising the suit of your Qx.

Partner knows you are 4-5 in the minors (at least) from your first two bids. Other than that, your hand is unremarkable. Leave the final decision to partner.

What is the best bid now for South?

Ty at all for help me :)

p heard your 2d bid and yet still chose to bid 4d at unfavorable. You have a complete

full blooded opening bid (even assuming the heart Q is worthless with a decent club

suit that may allow for pitches and even your spade K is behind the overcaller. Your

p had to leave some room for you in case your hand was at the bottom of your opening.

I would bid 5d

This mainly becasue it is highly unlikely p is merely competing with 4d since that move is

fraught with danger for usually a pittance of reward.

These assumptions are not available at favorable and less available at even vulnerability.

All these objections to the 1 opening have some basis, but a 1NT opening would probably have made it harder to discover your diamond fit in this instance, and so less able to judge what to do now.

On the other hand, it is possible they would not have got in the auction at all. Then again, we might just land in 3NT down off the top in hearts. Who knows what will happen next? I make what I think is the best bid right now.

Agree that we would open a 15-17 NT at the start. But, so what? We didn't see our QX of hearts then, so why look at it now? KX XX QXXX AKJTX is what we have bid with so far, and our hand as not gotten worse holding a card we weren't even counting.

I choose 5D now. under the conditions.

But, there are two big reasons I would never have this auction with my given hand. The other reason is that the 2D rebid would have shown true reverse strength in our partnership where the 1D response could be a 6-7 point 3-3-3-4 hand.

Partner has made a free bid of 4 and ensured that you can't bid 3N by doing so. What does this suggest ? To me partner doesn't have xx very often.

You have a working 13 count but a nice one on this auction. Do you open 10s and 11s often with this shape ? Or is this fairly minimum ?

What do you need for game ? Axx, x, KJxxxx, xxx is decent, add a black Q or shift a club to spades and it's very good.

I think I bid 5. I'd be on lead to 5x so no need to bid 5 on the way for the lead.
