p_t_red
I tend to hover over Robot bids to try to find out what they think they're doing. It isn't very helpful when the tipisn't close to what they actually hold (this happens frequently). One recent hand went: North East South West----- 1 C- Pass- 1HDoubl Pass 2 D-- pass2H(1) Pass 2NT-- Pass3S(2) Pass 3NT-- PassPass- Pass (1) Where 2H is "rebiddable hearts; 25+ total points"(2) Where 3S is "4+ S;rebiddable hearts; 25+ total points" North's hand was:S: JT32H: AKQ65D: 2C: AK4 17 HCPs, I guess a singleton is worth 8. It went down a couple of tricks. Wasn't paying attention, I was writing this, and had to capture the hands manually, since BBO doesn't do it. South had:S: 854H: 9D: J9654C: QJ96 East had:S: K6H: JTD: AQT7C: T8532 West had:S: AQ9H: 87432D: K83 C:
p_t_red
I just found this:"It sometimes uses “8421” points when cuebidding (A=8,K=4,Q=2,J=1). It will usually force to game if it thinks it has 25 Total Points between the two hands." Maybe it was using "8421" points when computing 25+ total points. However, if that's the case, it needs to call them "8421" points not total points. And based on this evaluation, it will force to game with 3 aces and a jack. That's kind of strange.
Stephen Tu
It went down a couple of tricks. Actually BBO does provide some tools to capture the hands programmatically if you are using the Flash client in a web browser. If you are in the web browser playing BBO, if you go the results window (or go to My BBO -> hands and results), and drill down to an individual hand, you should see an "export deal" button in the bottom left corner of the diagram. If you select "handviewer link" that will get you to a web link you can post here. Unfortunately the link is only valid for a few weeks, if you want to post a more permanent diagram here follow the instructions in this post:http://www.bridgebas...post__p__612386

Nah, it only does this when cue bidding. This hand is just a bug, North is a bit stuck looking for a bid that matches its hand, thinking it must act, so it doubles first round, then on second round again is stuck and picks this sequence as closest match to its hand. It has to be fixed so it can perhaps pass with this hand and then maybe double if 1nt comes back around to him, showing strong hand and good hearts. I guess an off-shape 1nt overcall would also be semi-reasonable. Most likely also the diamond call needs to be fixed to deny spades so it doesn't go searching for spade fit. Perhaps doubling than bidding 2h should show this hand, though with an adjustment downward in total points. Certainly not a common sequence. p_t_red
That isn't an option on the BBO game I was playing: Play bridge - 4 hands.
