Zelandakh
At Game All you are Dealer and hold the following hand:[hv=pc=n&s=sj4hk2dkq985cqt63]133|100|Dealer. Game All. IMPs[/hv] You are playing a light opening system based on Acol. 1NT is a good 11 to 14 and a 1♦ opening promises 4. Do you open, and if so, how? Edit: just to add, in case it matters, scoring is cross IMPs and opponents are poor (low intermediate).
Cyberyeti
Would always open, 1N/1♦ is largely a matter of style, probably 1N for me.
wank
i would never open this filth, even if it had been non-vul, but if you want to, open 1D hoping to attract the lead then retire.
mcphee
I find opening dismal minor suited hands an easy way for the opps to over call a major. Out bidding the majors with the minors just does not happen. While you may choose to try a weak it making it harder for the opps is the only time I would consider it. Codo
I would choose a preemptive and describtive bid here, so 1 NT it is. But my standard partners and I, we agreed beforehand, that these hand types are part of our weak NT. With a pick up partner I bid 1 ♦ and feal fine about this too. Pass looks like a crime system violation to me. :)
