Fluffy Posted February 25, 2013 Report Share Posted February 25, 2013 4♦ is NF, 5♦ shows a better hand, 4♠ an even better hand althou not neccesarily abot diamonds, but none of this is the best. double to be followed by diamonds shows a strong flexible hand with long diamonds. This is the best bid. With the small drawback of being passed out, but not at this vulnerability after partner has already made a take out double of spades. gszes Posted February 26, 2013 Report Share Posted February 26, 2013 west bid 4d with little in the way of a clue you had any diasupport at all and east first x promises significantly lessthan you actually have. Aces make for good minor suitgames as well as slams. Over 4d bid 5d instead of x. save the x for hands with kings and queens which are good on defense but not so hot on offense (at the 5+ level). If east were to bid 5d over 4s there is a pretty darn good chancewest will bid a very decent 6d. trust that your p made a good 4d bid and the rest is pretty easy plus the opps are barraging up a stormat least someone thinks we can make a lot.
