When asked if 1S-2S is constructive E say its 4-7, while 1NT followed by 2S is 8-9 with 2 or 3 trumps without competition. With comp they have no agreements. gnasher Posted February 19, 2013 Report Share Posted February 19, 2013 If double is available it seems better than 2NT, because it allows partner to leave it in, and it gives us more room if he takes it out. 2NT might get us to 3♣ opposite a 3613 shape, whereas double would always get us to 3♥.
