Flame
I think stiff 10 of diamond can wait for now, i prefer to run 5 clubs and see west strugle.
HeartA
I think stiff 10 of diamond can wait for now, i prefer to run 5 clubs and see west strugle. Great! Then where is the entry to dummy for good diamonds (West will cover your DJ)?

HeartA
Last night I had another desperate 3NT: [hv=d=s&v=n&n=satxhxxdqxckj9xxx&s=sq9xhaxdkxxxxxcax]133|200|Scoring: IMPAs a substitute for a team match, I didn't know anything about my pd (labeled himself as "expert", from later bid and play, he was not very good). I opened 1♦, the bidding went:South West North East1♦ 1♥ 2♣ Pass2♦ Pass 3♣ Pass3N Pass Pass XAll pass West led ♥x (the good news was West had ♣Qx), still couldn't see 9th trick.[/hv]

You can still make it if east has only a high heart since after wining the heartת the A of diamond will sqeeze is partner again.btw if west has also the A of diamonds it would be easier but the bidding gives east something too. HeartA
West virtually had nothing for the dbl.[hv=w=skxxxhqjxxxdaxcqx&e=sjxxhkt9xdjtxcxxx]266|100|[/hv]I took ♥A at trick #1, and ran clubs. On the last ♣, West discarded a ♠, leaving SK unprotected. I cashed ♠A and finessed ♠ to get an overtrick.

Nice, when west discard 3 spades after overcalling 1H , you know he probebly doesnt have 5 spades and therfore play the A of spade.if he was likely to have another spade then playing heart would be right. bingo
An alternative to the single 10 of diamonds on the right is to play RHO for honor 10 in diamonds. You would then plan on leading low toward your hand from dummy. If RHO plays the ten, you play the jack and crash the honor on the ace on the second round of diamonds. If RHO plays the honor, you play low, and then run the jack (smothering the 10) when in with the heart ace. So, get to dummy with the club queen and play a low diamond. (Of course, all the time you are presuming they cannot run a bunch of spades.)
Fluffy
Well bing if you are trtying that line you are assuming East has 4+♣, since he has to have a long minor, also since you NEED 2 entries to dummy for that to work, ,you would be ok if you started with club to the NINE. Still this line has even worse chances than stiff ♦10 from the bidding. There is a nother good line nobody suggested (ok it is my line :), the line I though about since I was dummy), wich is just double ♠ finese, you have to hold up ♥K, pray for no ♦ switch (otherwise you need ♣3-2) and ruun your winners endidn with ♦A, if all went right West will only have spades left with ♠AK and ♠Q will have to cash 9th trick. Between ♠AK onside and stiff ♦10 I am not sure wich has better chances, maybe close, just that ♠AK has a disadvantage, it will go 2 off when the hand is as it was: [hv=n=sqxxhaqxdjxcakjxx&w=sj109xxhkj10dkq10xxc&e=sakxh9xxxxdc10xxxx&s=sxxhxxda9xxxxcq9x]399|300|[/hv] After ducking a ♥ you will find yourself entryless to perfrom the ♣ finese AND cash the ♣ (unless you perfrom some double dummy ♠ gambit play). On trump lead 3♥ would be a bit painy :D.
Flame
Playing for AK of spade onside is playing the overcall was was very light if its based on diamond, and when u play 1 club round you know it wasnt on diamonds so what are we playing the overcall to have 0-2 hcp ?The ebst play is to run the clubs and hope for good, and good will come maybe more then you expect it, defence is the hardest part of the game and your opponents will make mistakes.
