aloman
Playing Robot duplicate tournament I ended in a bad 3 NT contract. East leads a small club, dummy has a singleton king and west has A1053. West does not cover the king with his ace. As you can see the deffenders can take the first five tricks without any problems. If West was a human a missclick might be the case, but it was a robot. I made the contract with an overtrick, but that's unfair to all other players in the tournament and they all pay entry fee to play in this tournament. http://tinyurl.com/d9rdxzb http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?sn=aloman&s=SA742HAK82DAJ97CK&wn=Robot&w=SQJ85HT976D3CAT53&nn=Robot&n=SKT3HQ54DQT82CJ76&en=Robot&e=S96HJ3DK654CQ9842&d=w&v=b&b=4&a=PPP1D(Minor%20suit%20opening%20--%203+%20D%3B%2011-21%20HCP%3B%201)P1N(3-%20H%3B%203-%20S%3B%206-10%20HCP%3B%207+%20total%20points)P3N(3+%20D%3B%205-%20H%3B%205-%20S%3B%2019-21%20HCP%3B%2022-%20total%20p)PPP&p=C4CKC5C6H2H6HQHJDQD6D7D3DTDKDACTDJC3D2D4D9CAD8D5HAH7H4H3HKH9H5C9S2SJSKS6S3S9SAS5H8HTSTC8SQC7C2S4S8CJCQS7
AyunuS
Not that bad of a move. It usually leads a short suit and north has 3 or fewer in both majors and south has only 1 club is all evidence that north is long in clubs. So it probably thinks that it's going to try to stop north from running all its clubs by keeping an A10x where north just has like QJxxxx so that it'll force north to lead away from its clubs more times than it has entries in north's hands, thus stopping north from running clubs. pigpenz
welcome to GIBif you look at all results you will see that there are plenty of gifts that go around by therobots. its up to you to get if from them either by the play or by the bidding

I don't agree. 4 of clubs is almost certain 4th best. There is no point to lead from 42 to the expected club length in the declarer hand. West should play allways his ace, even if he is very novice player. welcome to GIBif you look at all results you will see that there are plenty of gifts that go around by therobots. its up to you to get if from them either by the play or by the bidding Yes exactly. I want to play some bridge and improve my skills. I don't want to learn how to exploit robots bugs.
pigpenz
Yes exactly. I want to play some bridge and improve my skills. I don't want to learn how to exploit robots bugs.your declarer play will definitely improve your defending usually suffers.write to the powers to be to have tournaments that arent barometer scored and best hand at the table is not always you. It's intersesting that some said they bid this way with bots so they can play the hands instead of the bots, now thatyou get to play hand for the bot it hasnt curtailed alot of weird bidding....either its the state of the match(barometer)or just manipulation....if you look at hand records there is always a 3NT contract making that should never make, probably happensalot more than we realize. Leo LaSota
Defense improves as well as declarer play through practice with the GIB robots. Many hands on defense can be worked out through visualization and you can prevent your partner from having any opportunity for a defensive slipup.
