ahydra
Depends on your methods, to be honest. Starting with 3H doesn't look like a bad idea. It's still not easy though - North can't ask for aces because of his diamond void (some people would open x x AQxx J109xxxx). ahydra
PhilKing
Just bid 5♣. The chances of sensibly reaching a making slam are <<<<< than going off in five after tipping off a spade lead. Also, any slow auction increases the chance of them reaching diamonds - we do not know we can even beat SLAM. And I doubt I'll get much support, but 74 shapes should not be opened Three. 4♣-6♣. kenrexford
One nice tool that I personally like is to play 4♣ over any 3-level preempt (or after a weak two and a response to whatever 2NT asks) as a control-asking bid. But, when the specific opening is 3♣, then 4♦ asks that question. Thus, 3♣-P-4♦ as agreeing clubs, game force, asking for a control (up-the-line). Opener would bid 4♥ (heart stiff or King or Ace), after which Responder could bid 4♠ to ask for a spade control (5♣ no control, 4NT no spade control but a diamond control, other = helpful with spade control). That call might not be right for this hand and this problem, but I mention it anyway.
steve2005
reaching a good slam here when right and stopping in 5♣ is a pipedream when not.needs A♣(reasonable to assume this card), singleton ♠ or K♠ and Q♥ reasonable to jump to 5♣, 6♣ is low chance
ggwhiz
I would blast 6♣ because in my partnership style partner (in 2nd seat) is NOT off the ♣A and probably has an outside piece especially with only 6 of them. A slight gamble perhaps on the opening lead and/or a heart guess but my length suggests a stiff heart is likely with pard and I have plenty of entries. A spade lead from them unless from the KQ would be unlikely and a disappointment. ps, I've played the Rexford 4♣/♦ thing on occasion and REALLY liked it.
