pigpenz
it seems that what GIB does is exactly the opposite of what you would do with a "NORMAL" partner  [hv=myhand=M-35895001-1360874701]400|300|[/hv][hv=myhand=M-35894997-1360874701]400|300|[/hv] my question is this normal for GIB?so in order to show a hand where you would like to double you have to pass and back in? come on thats crazy

The problem is the silly definition of double of 2NT- it should be penalty of one or both of the suit shown by the 2NT not penalty of 2NT 10+HCP as displayed which suggests to GIB that diamonds is a better contract with a minimum hand. pigpenz
I have always played that it is penalty oriented towards one or both of the suits allowing partner to double if he has the othertrouble is with GIB we never know what he plays until after it happens...while the text box doesnt specify that its just a penaltyof 2NT.
