danhj
Can anyone give me an email address at BBO which might get a human to return my emails? I have been trying for a week to get someone at BBO to block the emails that they keep forwarding to me from some other player. I tried abuse@ which used to work and got nothing back from that address. I then tried a couple of other email addresses but have still not heard back from them. macaw
abuse@bridgebase.com is the email address to report abuse. support@bridgebase.com is the email address for other issues, though if you send an abuse issue there, it gets to the same department easily enough
barmar
What do you mean by us "forwarding mail from some other player"? We don't do any email forwarding.
RunemPard
Email or BBO offline messages? :-/
danhj
What I mean is (and I thought it was an email being forwarded) allowing someone to communicate with me by forwarding to me messages from him which I do not wish to receive. I made this person an enemy, which prevents him sending a message to me while I am actually on BBO. However every time I sign off and then on again, I receive messages from this person. I don't want to receive them and I know that BBO can stop it because once before a few years ago, they did precisely this for me. At that time, it was some complete and utter lunatic who threatened physical violence against my family; this time it's just an annoying idiot. Still, the point is I KNOW that BBO can block the messages and I want them to do so.
barmar
I can't reproduce this. I logged into an account that I have marked as an enemy, and sent an email to my main account. Then I logged into the main account, and the email wasn't there.
danhj
Well, all I can tell you is that every time I logon to BBO, I get several rude and annoying messages from this guy. It must be possible for BBO to block them. I know this because, as I said they did this once in the past.
diana_eva
on web version offline messages from enemies are automatically discarded. on the older downloadable version for windows enemies can leave you offline messages. switch to web version and you wont get them any longer. Zelandakh
Sorry Diana but that is just not acceptable. Why should someone be forced to use the client they do not prefer just because someone is sending abuse. The correct answer is surely to ban any account that adopts this behaviour. More than that, if the abuse is continuous and reaches a certain level then the recipient should be entitled to enough logged information to take the matter to the police for tracking down the perpetrator. diana_eva
I am simply explaining how the software works at the moment, I didn't say it's OK or acceptable or anything but if he wants to get rid of the offline messages, until he gets the police involved or a software change he can use the web version. scarlet310
danhj there is a place in BBO chat where you can block chat from anyone you do not want it from. I would imagine that this is in effect for when they leave you chat mail also.
