On-Line silliness

(P) P (1) 2...At this point in a no-count tourney, the TD arrives and undoes the auction because the computer passed for my RHO. So, now, 1st chair opens 1:

(1) ? to me. The TD tells the table to bid normally, whatever that is. Am I allowed in second chair to "raise" pard's weak jump overcall which has disappeared?

I have no stake in the answer, since things got even sillier without our participation. I just wonder, because I am warped.

I interpret "bid normally" as "pretend you didn't see the original auction". There's nothing in the Laws supporting this ruling -- officially, your partner's withdrawn actions are AI to you because you're the NOS. But a TD who would make this ruling probably won't appreciate you sticking to the letter of the law, and might just cancel the board (also illegal, but I doubt he cares).

May I assume the person who passed originally called him for an undo? Or maybe he was hatched at the table.

Sorry I read the 2nd line wrong...Just seems weird that a bid is allowed to be removed after all 3 players have gotten involved. Not only does removing the pass cause UI for all based on the bids after the pass, but now we all now know that the opening robot had a border-line opening hand.

This TD is a little strange...

Why not just request the player to continue bidding through PM?

IMO, the TD's do a reasonable job faking it so that boards can attempt to be played in these tourneys ---but they also adhere to real laws in situations which could occur in real life.

And I can't think of a scenario from real life where I would have the possibility of bidding 3 over righty's 1 to show support for partner's 6-bagger, so it amused my alleged mind.
