SteveMoe
Double then 4♠. Partner should expect me to have a 3-loser...
JLOGIC
I'd just overcall 4S
Phil
4♠ and hit 5♣. Sometimes partner can find an inspired continuation.
bigbenvic
4♠ and hit 5♣. Sometimes partner can find an inspired continuation. Yep, I bid 4♠ too. The x at my next bid is to show pards that I have a real hand eg 3 or 4 loses and also I have some tolerance for defending.
mr1303
I like heave pre-empts when partner can't open. 4S for me as well.
Fluffy
I have 9 tricks, and maybe only 9, so 3NT

JLOGIC
I have 9 tricks, and maybe only 9, so 3NT This is actually a good point, perhaps we should X and if partner bids clubs then we can bid 3N, they are unlikely to be able to both run clubs and do it in that case. I am a little worried LHO will bid clubs and RHO will save correctly though, the plus sides of blasting are reasonably good (either we stampede LHO to bid incorrectly, or we make them miss a big club fit when LHO can't bid). Xing makes a lot of sense if you're angling for 3N opposite a club bid from partner though.
