Cyberyeti
I'm confused. The diamond lead is the only lead to let it through single dummy, declarer knows to run this to his J, so E ruffs a loser and shortens his own trumps, declarer can now simply draw trumps, ruff 3 hearts dropping the A and pitch a club on the top diamonds. Without this it's much harder.
Fluffy
club also lets it through
ArtK78
It would seem to be cold on any lead. EDIT: As stated below, the ♥A lead does beat it.
Cyberyeti
club also lets it throughYup, missed that, A♥ will beat it single and double dummy. I thought you were saying the obvious diamond lightener killed the defence rather than declarer.
Fluffy
'obvious' lightner, I think lightner double asks for non diamond lead, but maybe I am wrong.
Cyberyeti
'obvious' lightner, I think lightner double asks for non diamond lead, but maybe I am wrong.Depends on your agreements, we play first seat preempts as very aggressive, so double of NT would be "lead your suit" rather than don't, and double of a slam would be a void, usually in partner's suit but if opps have bid another suit it's time to look at your holding and guess which one partner's ruffing.
