rgheath
Is anyone playing bridge on BBO using a Macintosh and the virtualPC software? I know that this combination is able to run many PC programs but at a slower speed than the latest PCs. As BBO is not an application that demands speed, does the Mac + VPC do the job or are there some other bugs that I should be aware of? The latest Mac is an atractive package for me for all of the other uses I have for a computer. Ron
uday
Mac+vpc works, as far as we know. "JRG" (author of our web-based help system) is one of the people who actually uses it in real life. So does user "Jim" if you spot him online. JRG
Works like a charm. I suspect it would not work quite as well with an old Mac. You need a Mac with a PowerPC G3 or G4 chip (or later). The PowerPC processer can actually run the Pentium instruction set, which is why Virtual PC works so well. I'm using Windows 2000 Pro on my "virtual PC". I have a PowerBook G4 with 1GB memory (lots of memory is a good thing on any computer!). Oh, my version of VirtualPC is 6.1.1 Feel free to ask me questions if you want (john_goold@racsa.co.cr).
