what's partner's got?

Ops vul, IMPs

( 1 )-1-( pass )-1

( 2 )-2-(double)-3

(double)-rdbl-(pass)-3

(pass)

Paint a hand for partner.

Agreements on his first bid are: 2 cuebid 10+ normally with support, 1/1 4+ cards forcing, 2/1 NF constructive, fit jumps at all levels except splinter 4. Your redouble showed A without supporting honnor.

opponet's doubles are penalty.

Since we showed the A, I am pretty confident this is not partner's hand...

Okay I thought openers RDBL showed first round control, not necessarily the A.

In this case I presume he has AKxxxx Qx A xxxx

Andy's hand looks the most likely to me so far - 5 very good spades, Hx and little to nothing in the minors.

With that hand it would never occur to me to disturb 2 doubled. If in an aggressive mood I might redouble, but 3 could be cheap.

The hand is far too weak for a 3 bid after RHO doubles 2. He has short clubs and long diamonds.

Where are you going? Probably into a telephone-number world.

Do you really believe 4 will play well after a club lead?

You must be joking or need a basic class in hand evaluation.

A good player takes not only partner's bids into account but also those of the opponents.

it seem like that,I think all of strange bids are forcing, however oppsite of opener's singleton of S, partner can't make 4S,so rebid 3H is doubletons with a top card.its goal is to let the partner choose best game style.

Fit-showing jumps in comp wins again.

I don't see how it matters whether you play fit jumps or not. After the 1 overcall East has an obvious drive to game, so regardless of the partnership's methods the auction should end in 4. East's actions may have been strange, but the moment that the auction really went wrong was when West passed a forcing bid.

West wasn't able to picture East's hand on this bidding. West made a judgment call. After a fit jump, West would have known 4 should be bid.

6 looks playable but not cold. If you want to be in it, I don't think either your auction or a fit-jump is going to get you there.

Actually, maybe that's not true. After Fluffy's auction, if it continues ...-3-3NT-4 West might be rather puzzled initially, but 4 can't be anything except a cue-bid for hearts. With prime values and no obvious loser, perhaps West should accept.

I don't even think east was doing too badly until he bid 3 instead of 4 on that turn. But I would probably just keep it simple and bid 4 a round earlier. In fact I'm sure I would support hearts at my first bid, perhaps planning on bidding spades next. So on reconsideration I don't think east supported hearts strongly enough at any turn although he could have survived. I agree with the idea it sounds like he has Hx.
