pigpenz
Any ideas on this I think maybe 7♣ is correct[hv=pc=n&n=shkqjt2dkqjcakqjt&d=n&v=b&b=13&a=2cp2sp3hp5np]133|200[/hv]
Cyberyeti
I cannot imagine why partner has GSFd unless he has only spades and hearts as with one void he can exclusion, with no void he can blackwood. (It also helps to play 5♠ as GSF here) That said, I would lie through my teeth and if my scheme was: 6♣ - none or Q6♦ - K or A6♥ - K or A and extra length I'd show K or A and extra length not two. Why ? my worry is that partner has AKQxxxx, xxxxxx, void, void or similar and nothing makes beyond 6♥. If partner has the A he'll probably bid 7 anyway reckoning the Q is irrelevant. pigpenz
you are playing with the best partner in the field!First time you have played with him, so nothing fancy2♠ showed 2/3 top honors, and you are playing 1430 RKCB
Finch
Unfortunately the responses to GSF are a matter of agreement, so if you haven't discussed it you have to guess. We play6C = A or K6D = Queen6H = none6NT = 27C = 3 but this may not be obvious without agreement. However, with 2 of them I'd definitely bid something above 6NT if this wasn't discussed. p.s. I'm not sure why you think partner has a double void, what's wrong with AKxxx Axxx Axxx - ? A bit of s shock opposite a 2C opener, but consistent with the auction. neilkaz
you are playing with the best partner in the field! Then perhaps he should learn to keep the bidding low with good hands. But lets give him credit for knowing what he's doing and that he's asking us to bid a Grand with two of the top three trump honors which we have. This is the standard way this convention is played in the US. Of course, many pairs have different responses as mentioned here.
Cyberyeti
p.s. I'm not sure why you think partner has a double void, what's wrong with AKxxx Axxx Axxx - ? A bit of s shock opposite a 2C opener, but consistent with the auction. Because I didn't have an idea at the time that this was not a regular partnership when I posted and I'd bid 5♣ exclusion not 5N on that. Why? What does 5C exclusion get you that GSF doesn't?
Cyberyeti
Why? What does 5C exclusion get you that GSF doesn't?It keeps you a little lower and you may be able to find out more easily whether 7N is better, although with a hand that big it's very likely to be solid. I suppose void, KQJxxxxxx, KQ, KQ is just possible. Funny you say your hand is a bit of a shock, I have held x, A, AKxxx, Axxxxx opposite a 2♣ opener, pard had AKQJxxxx, KQ10x, x, void and the auction went 2♣-3♣-4♠(solid suit)-7N. pigpenz
This is the hand i held when i bid 5nt....would you really do something else? I wouldnt think so[hv=pc=n&s=sakqj632ha7654dac]133|100[/hv]Maybe 7♣ if it it shows solid suit may make more likely to be in 7nt after ♦ cue bid

What on earth do you think partner has to open 2C?I don't think I've ever seen combined 40-count before.
JLOGIC
Combined 40 count more or less rare than a solid 2C opener opp a solid 2C opener? lol Edit: I mean they both have 2 loser hands, it's just so sick.

Fluffy
solid spades, diamond ace and club void where obvious, but I didn't think you would have ♥A as well.
pigpenz
I know this might be hard to believe but most of the players at this club would have opene 2♣without the A♣ they all play sort of bastardized 4 losers for opening 2♣ so change the A♣to the 9♣ and they would open 2♣...ouch
