Bidding is a rather uncultured 1S-2C-2S-6S

E/W are unfavourable

After quite some thought, the lead is the T, you play the ace and RHO the 8. Well you don't have to do that. Anyway what sort of line do you think is right? (If you play ace and ruff a RHO plays the Q on the 2nd round.

T1: A

T2: A

T3: low ruff

T4: ruff

T5: ruff

If clubs are established draw trumps crashing the queen. If trumps are 3-2 or the T drops there are enough tricks.

Otherwise you need hearts to break for two entries to dummy.

If clubs are not established

T6: ruff

T7: ruff

Draw trumps. If trumps do not break you are down.

I prefer to play a heart from hand without drawing trumps, that would be trick 3 after a club ruff.

No matter what I need some luck but this requires less than any other line. I intend to finesse

the heart if LHO follows --if they sluff rise with A and clear the suit. This leaves all options open

and only requires 1 dia ruff to make (plus some luck in opps club length ie rho being short).

LHO follows to the heart. I suppose you put in the jack? That would be ruffed on this layout but you would be in pretty good shape on the layout.

LHO has

x

QT9

Axxxx

Kxxx

The first line mentioned what what our declarer did but he had to go down when trumps were 4-1

Superb bidding at both tables, was it not?

I think Gunnar might have adopted Fluffy's line when the Q pops on the right at trick three.
