Fluffy
1) They are vuln, its time to pass quick, west may reopen.2) If 2♦ is NFB then 3♦, if it isn´t 3NT, if I don´tknow 3♦ to let the bidding open.3) 2♠, Too strong for 3♠, too balanced for 4♠, will have to eat 1 trump and bid 2♠. Gerben47
1. Pass. For 4♥ to make you need specifically that partner has 7 hearts, both missing top honors and his shortness in one of your tripletons and not in ♣. Pass! 2. Pass. My minimum is still a minimum. 3. 3♠. Should not be a junk hand.
nikos59
1. Pass. Obvious.2. Was 2D forcing? Then I would bid 4D.3. 3S. Not 4 without shortness.

inquiry
1) Pass - not vul versus vul, my partners can't be trusted too much, even in 2nd seat (where the preempt is more "classical"). 2) Pass - the auction isn't over and I have nothing extra. 3) 3♠... for a lot of reasons this is more than enough. pclayton
Thanks all. On the first, I passed. The halfling I was playing with held: x, JT87xxx, ATxx, K. I politely told him that a 2nd seat preempt white on red needs to be fairly descriptive; though not disciplined. He is preempting only one opponent. On the second I passed as well. My major queens are pretty much garbage. We sold out to 3♥ which was -1 when declarer guessed hearts but not spades (I had Q9x of spades). I tried 3♠ on the 3rd (are you really selling out to 3 of a minor with 10 trump?). even with JTxxx, Kx, Axx, AKx, he guessed the play poorly and went -1. flytoox
1, pass. Many good things can happen, opp may balance. game reward is low.2, 3H, pd could bid 3N if he has singleotn K or J. If he doesnt have it, we will retreat to 4C. IMPs i think we should try hard for the vul. game.3, 2s. Death trap for LOTT. Hongjun
daswallow
1 - Pass, as 3nt is not likely and too many quacks for 4h.2 - Pass, as I don't think the hand has got any better.3 - 3s is enough for me, qh is probably wasted and the shape is so poor. Also we are vul and 4s will likely get doubled.

mikestar
1. Pass. Who was the world class player who said "Don't play me for specific cards, I won't have them."? 2. Really depends on what partner is showing, I would guess pass with a pickup. This hand is a fairly good advertisement for the weak NT. 3. 3S, the compromise bid. I will bid 4S without shortness if the hand is otherwise perfect, but the QH is worthless on offense but might take a trick on defense (I'm not worried about QS, it's wasted both ways.) I have some sympathy for 2S, but if you do it, then sell to 3m. If you are going to take the push, take it now. You wpn't get to play 2S unless the opponents are beginners.
