1) Pass - not vul versus vul, my partners can't be trusted too much, even in 2nd seat (where the preempt is more "classical").

2) Pass - the auction isn't over and I have nothing extra.

3) 3... for a lot of reasons this is more than enough.

Thanks all.

On the first, I passed. The halfling I was playing with held: x, JT87xxx, ATxx, K. I politely told him that a 2nd seat preempt white on red needs to be fairly descriptive; though not disciplined. He is preempting only one opponent.

On the second I passed as well. My major queens are pretty much garbage. We sold out to 3 which was -1 when declarer guessed hearts but not spades (I had Q9x of spades).

I tried 3 on the 3rd (are you really selling out to 3 of a minor with 10 trump?). even with JTxxx, Kx, Axx, AKx, he guessed the play poorly and went -1.

1. 4

2. I would have bid 3 not PASS - now I'm stuck for bid - guess 3(If asking for S stopper for 3NT ) OR 4 if 3 not available ;)

3. 2

1. Pass. Who was the world class player who said "Don't play me for specific cards, I won't have them."?

2. Really depends on what partner is showing, I would guess pass with a pickup. This hand is a fairly good advertisement for the weak NT.

3. 3S, the compromise bid. I will bid 4S without shortness if the hand is otherwise perfect, but the QH is worthless on offense but might take a trick on defense (I'm not worried about QS, it's wasted both ways.) I have some sympathy for 2S, but if you do it, then sell to 3m. If you are going to take the push, take it now. You wpn't get to play 2S unless the opponents are beginners.
