antonylee Posted December 27, 2012 Report Share Posted December 27, 2012 That only works if you play that 3♦ as natural, which is not completely obvious to me (I would assume it's a generic probe for the best game, but perhaps it should indeed be natural).I would rather try a direct, natural and invitational 3♥, intending to bid 4♦ if partner bids 3♠. May get us too high on a misfit though, but at least it's pretty clear 4♦ is NOT forcing (I could have bid 2♥ then 3♦ with a forcing hand).
