Lord Molyb
3NT. P will bid on if he has near-opening values.
mr1303
3NT. By the way, you don't have a 2C opener IMO.
Finch
4H. I wouldn't have opened this 2C. Partner can easily have, say, x AQJ9xx xx xxxx when 3NT might go off with 6H playable(ish).
Phil
4♥. My quick tricks and heart T are useful for 4♥. 3N is betting partner's hearts suck and has side Q's and J's. I can't think why either should be the case.
lycier
3NT. IMO,I prefer opening 1♠ to 2♣.
mycroft
For my positives, partner has shown 2/top 3, or 3/top 5, and unless he's AK, "something" else. 3♥ should show an extra heart, at least. Why can't 6♥ be on? The only reason 6♥ rather than 6NT is that he might have to ruff something to get to the rest of his hearts. I don't like 3NT - if all partner has is hearts, we have 6 tricks, and ♥AKxxxx is 8... Alternatively, 6♣ could be on when partner is 1=6=2=4. Add me to the crowd that doesn't want to open 2♣ with this hand; this auction (alternatively, 2♣-3♦; 3♠-4♦, with 3NT and 5♦, but not 6, on) is why. JLOGIC
Yeah bidding 3N instead of 4H would be a terrible error

Lurpoa
For Ms Hinden ♥: Sure, it depends on partnership agreements..But with such a hand - 4 losers - I like to open 2♣.You need only a few well placed points. to make 4♠. ♥♥♥ I wanted to address this to Ms Hinden) Edited December 27, 2012 by Lurpoa
