You're playing with about equally skilled players in IMPs, and on the very first board, you get this auction.

[hv=pc=n&s=shaj8dkt6ckq98532&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=pp1c1d1h1sd(support)1n(strongish%2C%20support)2c2s]133|200[/hv]

What do you bid?

Actual hand contained in the spoiler:

Are you sure you want to look?

I blasted to 5 clubs, down one.

West has a strong hand, but some prefer to bid their suit first and show strength later. Knowing that 1NT shows a strong hand with fit, I don't see much wrong with West's bidding, although I can understand that some prefer to start with Dbl instead of 1.

Anyway, I'd blast to 5. You know they're going to bid at least 4 and make it, so take some as much space away as possible and put up the pressure. I'd expect to go 2 off in 5, so it's worth the shot. And if we're 3 off, it's not as bad as in MP. Let them make a mistake if there is one. The history of the hand shows that in fact they did made a mistake. ;)

Having a tool such as 1NT (West) after his overcall is almost as silly as using it with that hand.

It was the sole cause of the E/W disaster, allowing North to cheaply show his club support and South to bombard the auction. Anything at the 4-level by West, according to agreement, must be a better idea.

For much the same reason, I am not real fond of support doubles with 7-long in one's opening bid suit, either.
