    • No. Don't give partner the idea it might be our hand.

So at favorable vulnerability matchpoints the bidding goes...

P 1N ?

We open light. Partner says I should bid 2S here. He says that since he's a passed hand, he won't bury me.

I'm not worried about bidding 2S. At this vulnerability and holding great intermediates, if I go for a number, they're making something their way.

Should I bid 2S here? Would you be more or less wanting to bid 2S here depending on whether partner is a passed hand.

Partner is a passed hand and I've got only 6 HCP's, they're very likely getting to game, why not mess with them?

+ maybe partner and RHO have a relative max and responder doesn't have a clear game bid so they miss it, or partner can save somehow.

Mel Colchamiro has published on this theme. Mel's "Rule of 6+2" applies.

# Card in longest 2 suits = 10

minus number of LTC losers = 7

Pass if 1 or less, bid if 2 or more = 3 --> Bid 2.

I would not consider showing both majors on this hand.
