p is missing almost everything except spades and it is diffcult to imagine

this hand not having excellent play for 7s even though all we have is a singleton.

7n seems like it should also have a fair chance at success but if it goes down it might be by a TON

and its hard to imagine 7s going down more than 1. p could have bid 4s 5s but went all the way

to 6s so i am willing to take out a bit of insurance against a bad heart split and maybe still allow us to

make 7s by maybe ruffing 1h and taking the rest. The extra advantage of being able to do a ruffing

finesse with the heart T9 persuaded me).

If partner is not insane, partner must have a 12 card suit headed by the AQ and another card. Otherwise, he can't really know if slam can make be very sure slam will make.

I'm bidding 7 NT to get to the safest slam. So long as we can run s, 13 tricks are there. 7 NT removes the only possibility of defeating the grand -- a ruff on the opening lead.

I would place pd with 7 card spades headed by the AJ or AQ and a void (probably ) and having K in suit (depends on how good his spades are) and 3+ clubs

If he has

AQJxxxx (AQxxxxx)

void

xx

xxxx

then he may not have K, but if his spades are AJxxxxx he probably has the K

Some may think bidding 6 with only AJxxxx is nuts, but he is bidding under pressure after a heavy preempt and not expecting us to hold a stiff when we double 4, wouldn't you bid 6 with .....

AJxxxxx

void

Kx

xxxx

AJTxxxx

void

x

xxxxx

?

Idk , maybe we shouldn't bid slam with this....perhaps i am overbidding again...

If pd has hand#1 i constructed for example, we wanna be in 7 not NT

But still, imo if we are going to bid grandslam, that should be NT. Not only it plays better in long run but also avoids suffering from a club ruff at T1.
