Jstroke
The following hand came up in a study sessions. RKCBW was the topic. You hold J64 void AJ8 KQ9xxxx The bidding 1H p 2C p 2S p ??? 4N was the bid suggested. I disagree but think the continuation presents a problem. The only strain that is unlikely to be trump is diamonds. How can I tell Partner about my Clubs and Cover Cards, and/or find out about the Spades? :-/

Not sure if this holds true if the void is in Partner's suit, does it? As to the solution to your problem - I am looking forward to the responses so that I can learn something, too. ::) BTW, if your partner were to bid rkbw, how do you show a void? mink
I would bid 3nt, as I doubt it is a good idea to go for slam with a misfit hand. And it is the only chance to declare a diamond stopper. Karl

Orla This is a double post. See the BW? thread started the same day by JSTROKE in this same forum to read an excellent response by CODO. That is also were you will find my response, which agrees entirely with codo's.
