manudude03
First of all, my table: Link So E/W are cold for slam here (well, 6H needs trumps 3-2 on repeated spade leads, 6C is just cold barring a ruff) and they let us play in 3S undoubled? Next: Second table So, from East's perspective, West has approximately 1 spade from the bidding, so is 98x really a stopper? Third table There's no point in throwing 2 clubs away here, the only time it gains is when trumps are 5-0 meaning you go less down. Otherwise that's 2 overtricks thrown away. cloa513
So E/W are cold for slam here (well, 6H needs trumps 3-2 on repeated spade leads, 6C is just cold barring a ruff) and they let us play in 3S undoubled? And it doesn't meet GIB's requirements for a double since it has only 2 diamonds. Next: Second table So, from East's perspective, West has approximately 1 spade from the bidding, so is 98x really a stopper? And why does West fail to bid hearts. There's no point in throwing 2 clubs away here, the only time it gains is when trumps are 5-0 meaning you go less down. Otherwise that's 2 overtricks thrown away.So much for GIB simulations.
