First of all, my table: Link

 

So E/W are cold for slam here (well, 6H needs trumps 3-2 on repeated spade leads, 6C is just cold barring a ruff) and they let us play in 3S undoubled?

 

Next: Second table

 

So, from East's perspective, West has approximately 1 spade from the bidding, so is 98x really a stopper?

 

Third table

 

There's no point in throwing 2 clubs away here, the only time it gains is when trumps are 5-0 meaning you go less down. Otherwise that's 2 overtricks thrown away.

And it doesn't meet GIB's requirements for a double since it has only 2 diamonds.

And why does West fail to bid hearts.
