I don't want to pre-empt my opponents too much, my partner probably has something like ♠KQxx ♥Axx ♦AQJx ♣xx and we might be able to catch a decent penalty if they bid 3♦ or 3♠, but we'll still make 3♣.

Thus, I bid 2NT intending to pass 3♣.

Very unlikely, given that we are told 1NT is 10-13. I think it's also unlikely that you will be permitted to play in 3C, but I guess that depends on what "average club opps" means. Around here, that means that if left to their own devices, the OPPONENTS might end up playing in 3C.

Reasonably competent. Expect them to bid to the right place give or take a trick on most hands and not misplay too savagely. More than that I don't know.
