Just your everyday hand...

Partner is the dealer...NV to all...

Bidding...

P-(P)-1-(1)

P-(P)-2-(2)

3-(3)-4-(P)

?

Do you agree with my bidding? 3 in this situation was not discussed. I figured a reverse opposite a passed hand must show a good hand and strong game interest. I wasn't sure if it was better to bid 4 or 4. The 4 bid was mean't to show a distributional monster...What would you do over 4 at any scoring? Are you expecting the hand I had shown, or should I have gone another route? My thoughts were that by doing a reverse first, then jumping in , or showing again after support is shown, that I can better describe my hand. Partner can possibly make a negative double after 1, but she is still learning and the hand isn't that great either.

The opponent showing both majors is bidding after you...

Thanks for the advice.

I have edited the post a bit...had worded a few things wrong.

3D is clear for me. You have a tough call over 3H. 4H is fine though (though it does sound like you're 6-5 rather than 8-4). Over 4H, partner should bid 4S, then maybe 5C-5D-pass, though I wouldn't blame opener for jumping to 6D, it just needs normal breaks in the context of the opponents having a big double fit and only competing to the 3 level.
