Nice falsecard by GIB

A testiment to sheri's bad play- there is nothing to be gained by ruffing spades- need to setup diamonds.

Can understand you are trolling to provoke a reaction from Fred, but attacking Sheri is a bit too low for my taste and, I imagine, for yours?

Don't you think you should apologize? I corresponded with Sheri when seeking a copy of BaseIII and found her a very gracious lady.

Based on a few years of his posts, I don't think anything is "a bit too low for [Cloa's] taste".

Guess you are right and my appeal to the "better angels of our natures" is naive.

What that Fred is a poor teacher and bad example chooser- he is desperate to give GIB a good name rather than fix GIB's bidding system to a high level of detail and cross-check the play to see its doing what its supposed - rather they slooping in ill-formed new conventions and fix a small number of the bugs.

he is desperate to give GIB a good name...

Actually I just thought it was an amusing hand and that those with a sense of humor and/or the ability to appreciate a good play might enjoy seeing it.

I support your right to criticize GIB, including Fred's choice of example, but I do not think you should attack players personally. Apart from being rude and hurtful, you are likely to misapprehend their purpose and be unfair?

Suppose I decide to treat robots as human as I initially did. This gives a richer experience but to a double dummy observer with knowledge of robot habits the play seems poorer. On a human basis the "falsecard" in Fred's example is the sort that Reese used to make in his heyday. And was highly praised for making.

Personally I have given up criticizing GIB. I made my suggestion for what it's worth. To persist is like "flogging a dead horse", and decisions about GIB's future are commercial decisions and not mine to make.
