HeartA
I vote for 6♦. My ♥ is not good enough to bid 7.
whereagles
Well, well... with our side's lust for self-preemption, who needs opponents to mess up the bidding? <_< LOLOLOL Anyway.. 7 may be on, but I'm sticking to 6H. The bidding hints at bad breaks and it's not clear whether 7 will be cold, even on normal breaks.
joker_gib
6♦ also ! It is the last bid available to tell partner that 7 is still possible but I don't want to decide myself !
joker_gib
Well in another way : to jump to 6♣ partner has probably a ♠ void, good ♥ and a great ♣ suit which is Ok for 7. But why didn't he ask for aces or bid 5♠ ???
inquiry
No one (other than me) has voted for my choice... 7♣. I don't see how 6♦ is going to be much help to partner. He already knows about your four card heart support, he refused to use 5♠ exclusion blackwood, or regular blackwood, or to bid a forcing (after your leap) 5♣ or 5♦. He leaped to slam in clubs without support of clubs but with humungo suport in hearts, but he only bidding 1♥ (not 2♥) over the redouble, and he bid this slam missing 3 aces. And, EAST had enough something to make a takeout double to boot. I am sorry, I can find only one hand type for this...Absolutely solid clubs, probably eight long, and king fourth in hearts. East will be caught in the grips of a three suit squeze or simple diamond-heart squeeze (if partner has a stiff spade and diamond void... I think the hands are something like this.....[hv=n=saxxxhatxxdaqxxcx&w=skqjxhqjxxdkxxxcx&e=sxxxxhxdjxxxxcxxx&s=sxhkxxxdcakqjt9xx]399|300|Really, truthfully, does anything else make anysense? With spade void, partner would bid 5♠, exclusion. Maybe partner has seven clubs, two small spades, and four hearts QJxx without 98 so WEST hearts are K987...7C is still same heart-diamond squeeze. [/hv] Or partner may have 7 solid clubs wiht KJxx of hearts (missing Q987---which is with the takeout doubler-plus two spades). No, the only bid that makes any sense to me at all (assuming partner is not a total wack job) is 7 clubs.
Fluffy
Nice Ben, but on the hand you posted 7NT is as good as 7♣. Anyway congrats, you are very close to wha thappened, should I have stated we don´t play exclusion blackwood?, ehre the complete hand: [hv=d=n&v=n&n=shkjxxdxcakqjxxxx&w=sqj10xxh9dxxxxc10xx&e=skxxxhq87xdkjxxcx&s=sa9xxha106xdaqxxcx]399|300|Scoring: MP[/hv] 7♥ unluckylly is the only contract you won´t make, but 6♥ will make more points than 6♣ wich was my losing option :-/.
