kayin801
One more try, though admittedly this could go horribly wrong. I'm looking for overtricks anyway, right? And any extra honors partner has should mesh well with my hand. I'd bid 5♦, then pass partner's 5♠. I don't really have a good agreement as to how to reach 6♣ when partner is 4-4 in the blacks :(
CSGibson
If you pass, W comes in with 5♦ all of a sudden, partner passing it to you. Now?
ewj
Double...are all these problems love all?
Fluffy
5♦ from LHO? lol I might bid 6♠ now just to see his face, I hated my diamond doubleton when I passed 4♠ but now it is actually possible for partner to have a heart honnor, a club honnor, ♠Q and ♦ short, if one of them is an ace slam is on a finese. Had partner bid 5♠ I think I would raise, but now he just offers a 5♠ its more like he is 6313 with ♠Q and an ace third. Opponents make at least 7 trump tricks and a side card if we make slam, or else 2 side cards and we don't make slam. So no double, and I bid 5♠ only. Codo
Qxxxx,Kxx,xxx,Ax looks like a 4 Spade bid. But Qxxxx,Akx,xx,Axx is one too, so it is really close between pass and raise. I try 5 ♠. ... After 5 ♦ I go for 6 ♠, because I give partner fewer diamonds then in my first example...
Finch
If you pass, W comes in with 5♦ all of a sudden, partner passing it to you. Now? Seriously? After I spent ages deciding whether to move or not?Either he's absurd, or he is confident we aren't making slam.Partner has made a forcing pass, but if it's really love all I double if he's good and I bid if he's absurd. He's absurd. This problem (and 1 & 2) was from a weak field in flight B (under 2000 masterpoints), which I will still qualify for for a couple more years. Problems 4-6 were from the open flight NAP qualifier, so a higher level of competition.
CSGibson
[hv=pc=n&s=sakjhqjt8da4ckjt2&w=s932ha942dq6c7654&n=sqt876hk65d2caq98&e=s54h73dkjt98753c3&d=e&v=0&b=14&a=3ddp4spp(20%20second%20tank)5dp(forcing)p6sppp]399|300[/hv] I tanked for long enough, and east may have been thinking that 5♦ was fairly safe because I would take the push to 5 - in her mind I was clearly thinking of bidding on. This was a fun hand.
