Cyberyeti
Weakish club field: [hv=pc=n&s=saqj52hkdkqj9ckt8&n=s8haqt6da8763ca63&d=w&v=0&b=8&a=p1dp2sp3dp4h(kickback)p4s(0/3)p5s(K/Q%20S%20%3F)p6d(no)p6nppp]266|200[/hv] I give our auction 2♠ was (GF in both cases) single suited rock crusher or HHxxx♠ and Hxxx♦, I had no way to check for a singleton spade in partner's hand, if I could find that out (maybe asking for the Q♦ then bidding 5♠ should do this), I think I'd have bid 7♦. In this sort of field, do you want to be in 7♦ ? 6N= was 55%, 6N+1 was 85%, 7♦ was all of them. W led the 7♣, plan the play.
Fluffy
gotta win ♣A in order to play spades early and have a squeeze option if finese works having ♣K as comunication.
mikeh
It looks as if rho holds QJ ♣ and we need him to hold the spade K (we're always hooking spades to establish our 12th trick). Nobody leads the club 7 from QJ97. Therefore there is no point in making the reflexive duck at trick 1. Win the A, hook the spade. If it loses, claim 12 tricks. If it wins, cash the A♠, K♥, run the diamonds and the AQ♥. Assuming the J hasn't dropped (rho may be 3 suit squeezed even if the J was Jxxx(x) to start with, rho will have been squeezed in the blacks. nigel_k
What mikeh said. Plus there is a double squeeze if LHO has the ♥J and it turns out he did lead from J97 or Q97.
