Oppo's style is Acol (4-card majors, weak NT) if it makes a difference.Happy with your passes on the first 3 rounds of bidding? What now? Hanoi5
I'm bidding 3♣. I don't like my hearts and if I win 2 tricks in hearts, can partner be expected to win 4 tricks in the other suits? I'm not sure. I'd pass without so much regret at MP's but at imp's it can be very costly.
kenrexford
Partner doubled 1♥. The opponents next bid spades and diamonds. Now, he is doubling 2♥. I am fairly certain that this double is not takeout for one of the remaining one suits. It sure seems like partner has a double-and-bid-notrump hand, or close to it. He seems to think we can beat 2♥ on power. I tend to agree. So, I pass.
gwnn
If I wanted to pull this, I'd try 2S of course but this really looks like a pass to me. Partner should not bid like this with a 4045 10 count.
ewj
Pass!!!!! I have 5 trumps for crying out loud. Partner might even have one....not close either.
gszes
PASS Partner has heard that dia hearts and spades all have one opp with at least 4 cards ineach suit. Despite this information p has doubled once again. This has to be based onvery strong values and we have 2 probable heart tricks and what seems to be a useful club Qxx for opening lead purposes. If I cannot pass with this hand then p has made a very poor 2nd x.
PhilKing
I pass. Experience suggests they make 9 tricks, but I live in hope that partner will have his call. I have an uneasy feeling regarding partner's pass of 2♦ though. Has his hand suddenly improved?
ggwhiz
Pass is clear. In my partnership if I pull I better go plus and I don't think so so I win the autopsy
VM1973
I'll pass and hope for the best.
bigbenvic
Pass, I'm not lucky enough to be able to bid here and get them to bid 3♥ allowing me to double that.
WellSpyder
I pass. Experience suggests they make 9 tricks, but I live in hope that partner will have his call.I'm not 100% sure whether he has or not - it is not that clear there is much to gain by bidding again:♠AJ102♥A♦QJ72♣KJ106 To all the passers (of which I was one) - you are right in theory. In principle oppo can only make 7 tricks, and you can't make more than 7 tricks in any denomination either. However, DD defence isn't always easy and in practice 8 tricks might easily make either way, so maybe it isn't worth the risk of passing? Certainly -670 wasn't a great success.... Fluffy
in theory partner should double 2♦ instead of 2♥
ahydra
Pass on every round of bidding so far is obvious. And now another pass seems clear (partner should have been prepared for this when he doubled 2H...) ahydra
