gszes
2c no defense not interested in having p convert to penalties2c dittopass dont want to gamble where we might easily be down 500 inside suit tricks as soon as trick 4 and the opps nowhere near close totheir hcp limit. Bidding here is more las vegas then bridge. If we wereto x as our chosen competitive choice do we really want to defend withthis almost defenseless hand??????????????

rmnka447
First hand - 2 ♣ Second hand - Pass over 2 ♦ - even in SAYC, opponents are showing 22+ so pard can't have much (even less vs 2/1). And most of your points are quacks. - Pass over 4 ♠ - here pard could have some values, but at the five level, it's too high to try to find out.

And most of your points are quacks. 22 out of 40, yes, but if partner has a club fit and little in spades it may be more like 13 out of 30. Consider partner with Jx Kxx xxxxx 10xx, 3C is pretty much cold (may even make four). 4S probably makes too, but if you don't call you'd never find the good sac in 5CX. And that's not to mention the possible heart fit opposite... I just think with the spade void and 4-6 in the other suits this hand is too good to pass. Even if partner has a complete bust, they make 4S and 3CX/3HX is down 500 at worst. R/W it would be different. ahydra
Fluffy
double, double, and double, last one is close to 4NT, passing is ridicoulous IMO
gnasher
Double x3. I think 1♠-p-4♠-4NT shows a 5-5 two-suiter, so I wouldn't consider it.
